The university organizes educational programs at all levels, Bachelor's degree, Master's degree and PhD. Most of the courses are full-time, but there is a fairly rich offer of part-time and distance courses.
The university has high prestige, especially in fields in which it also has a well-established tradition: petroleum and gas engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering in the field of oil and gas and petroleum refining and petrochemistry. Ploiesti is a modern industrial, yet beautiful city, whose center is less than twenty minutes away from the university by bus. Anyone living and learning in Ploiesti should not miss the Clock Museum, the National Oil Museum, the Statue of Liberty, the Central Market Place with its Clock Tower and its most picturesque Chestnut Tree Boulevard.
Ploiesti is also surrounded by wonderful sights worth seeing as part of Romania's natural and cultural heritage: the Carpathian Mountains, the Peles Castle in Sinaia, the Salt Mine in Slanic, or "Nicolae Iorga" Memorial House in Valenii de Munte, to mention just a few.
